April 20, 2010
Use this wiring at your own risk only!
No warrants. At your own risk.
Reducing serves to, so that a device can be connected to the FreeRunner at the same time while the FreeRunner is still powered. The original FreeRunner power supply or another USB power supply can be connected to the mini-USB. A connector of personal choice can be connected to the other input and another power source can be connected, e.g. a 2/3-cell Li-Pol battery or even an AC power supply, which is commonly supplied with home electronics. The switch is used for switching the FreeRunner's charging speed and, in the future, for switching the USB mode.

Release special USB reduction with power supply for Neo FreeRunner version 2
The device has been tested at 3A draw, with 12V DC and 24V input voltage. At this load, the device is already getting quite hot, so you need to allow airflow around the device. At 1A load the device is almost cold, at 2A the device is reasonably warm. Probably not a good idea to use the device at its limits, but it should be able to handle it. Some sort of heatsink on the stabilizer is a must! The heatsink that you see in the photo is sufficient. Both DC and AC voltage can be connected to the input, which is common for home routers etc. .
